2022 YEAR-IN-REVIEW
LOCAL TO GLOBAL
First of all, we want to say “thank you” to all of our friends and family who have partnered with us in mobilizing MORE for God’s one mission. What we have to share in this 2022 Year-in-Review would not be possible without YOU!
VIDEO: Check out this short video update from our Fall 2022 eNEWS.
#LOCAL HIGHLIGHTS
:: Meet Mrs. Cox. This beautiful 74-year old grandmother was one of the over 170 downtown neighbors who were part of the Thanksgiving “Cup of Love” Outreach. This precious lady told Jeremy a snapshot of her story as we shared the gospel and we prayed for her healing.
2022 Thanksgiving outreach
Check out this short highlight reel for our Thanksgiving Outreach at Oceanway Church. As Associate Pastor, Outreach is one of three main areas of oversight and leadership: Outreach, Care, and Missions. Every month, we organize and lead a food distribution for our local community—this is a powerful time of significant ministry as well as meeting immediate, felt needs.
THE BIG GIVE
HURRICANE IAN RESPONSE
“Vehicle” for Local Outreach
“Outreach is a local expression of God’s one global mission.”
Our Oceanway Church Outreach building is a vehicle to accomplish this local expression. About 1 mile from the Main Campus, this church will be a hub for all kinds of outreach ministry: food distribution, counseling, support groups, circles, and much more!
#GLOBAL HIGHLIGHTS
launching the next generation of great commission workers
:: These Great Commission workers are on fire ! 48 individuals from dozens of organizations and ministries equipped at the June ‘22 Support Raising Solutions Bootcamp—headed to Afghanistan, Chad, China, and beyond. In our December ‘22 Virtual Bootcamp, we had 79 participants from around the world—Egypt, Nigeria, Greece, Kenya, Romania, South Africa, the Philippines, and more. So awesome to be part of helping these Great Commission workers accomplish God’s ONE mission!
continental theological seminary: brussels, Belgium
This team accomplished 19 projects at Covenant Theological Seminary, helping the school prepare to train predominantly European ministers for the 2022-2023 academic year. Susan also had the opportunity to minister with the women at Breaking Chains, a ministry specializing in rescuing victims of trafficking and abuse. This was the first overseas mission that we have been on together since 2009!
GLOBAL TRAINING SCHOOL: CHARIS BIBLE COLLEGE
EQUIPPING MISSIONARIES-IN-TRAINING: GO TO NATIONS WHQ
the 2022 go to nations experience
“Missions ministry is not so much about gathering as it is about empowering and releasing.”
In April ‘22, 350 guests, staff, missionaries, and volunteers from all over enjoyed this family event with a global focus at Eden Gardens Farm! One of our Oceanway Church Board Members attended the event, and is currently set for going through the Missionary Preparation and Orientation for Go To Nations in February 2023!
#ON A PERSONAL NOTE
PLEASE PRAY: What’s next?
:: We are so very grateful for God’s faithfulness in 2022! Susan in in her 11th year of primary education, and loves Kindergarten! Josiah is enrolled full-time at Full Sail University, and is pursuing his degree in Creative Writing. Sophia was awarded the “Stallion Award” in Varsity Lacrosse this year.
Next year, establishing the Oceanway Outreach building is a major focus—we believe that this will be key to facilitating community transformation in our local area. Jeremy plans to return to CHARIS Bible College in March, and is scheduled to be the “Master of Ceremonies” at a conference with Missions Executive Leaders from scores of missions agencies and organizations with the Center for Missions Mobilization.
In 2023, please pray for God’s wisdom and direction for leadership, and for God’s blessing and continued guidance for Jeremy, Susan, Josiah, and Sophia! #onmission #localtoglobal
